It's onset of winter's and I am already freezing, Vishal has a good time seeing me chattering my teeth but like a good husband he hugs me to make me feel cozy all the time. We are planning to visit parents in December...Gosh can't wait to get the comfort of complete family!!

Man, I'm under the weather, this year the allergies showed up. People tell me that everyone in Texas, sooner or later, suffers this fate.

Next week's exam week and as usual I'm starting to get worried! Finance is interesting, but these exams bug me!!

Hurricane Rita after Katrina ravaged Lousiana & Texas. We stashed some necessities and water..just in case. Fortunately, we didn't get to use 'em! Actually, weather in Dallas has been quite nice!!

School and work is keeping me busy and Venus is busy learning BizTalk. I'm procrastinating finishing up http://www.indianfoodclub.com.

Venus decided that we should watch all Star Wars movies, so we started from IV and finished V on Friday. VI, I, II & III to go. It's fun!

After our trip to California, we were looking forward to adventure, someplace out of the city but not within the four walls of a hotel room...On the road?? pretty much!! we decided to go for camping over the weekend ie the Aug 16,2005. It was friday afternoon, we were sitting physically at work but our mind's were wandering .... Where in woods can we go fior camping? ...confused ? "Google it" On the internet we found this camp site in Austin http://www.whitewatersportsinc.com/stay.html..... Thumbs Up! In the evening we both listed up the stuff we would need for camping. The neatest of all purchases was our Cool Mustand and Blue colored Hiking Tent. Next day we were on our way to camping. It was a 5 hour drive from Dallas, we rented a Silver Accord and kept driving with least stops till we reached Austin. Once we reached time was ticking double the speed unlike , it moves on a Monday morning at work.
First things first ...laying the tent... First time, it took us a while to understanding the technicalities of laying a strong tent which would resist the blowing winds and pouring rain, but at last we got it! All set, it was 4:30 on a Saturday evening, the campsite was as busy as if GAP selling T-Shirts for free. A mile away from our tent was the Canyon Lake, we decided to take a swim before we start with the Barbecue. Exciting stuff, water was not very deep but had lot of stones and was freezingly cold but surprinsly one dip washed away the tiredness of our long day and..what next..FOOD!!of course. Vishal was the head chef he got on the job of setting the grill, burning coals and I went out in Jungle ooooo..hhh to collect some woods and then came this Big Lion...Kidding. I collected a good stock of woods with an intention to do a bonfire in the evening . Vishal barbacued the chicken wings, sausages chicken patties, bread rolls plus we carried some crunchy chips, Muffins, Dhokla(Vishal's favourite) ...and Bottle of wine...cooked food was a treat to the eyes...time to open the wine..Where is the wine opener??..
Venus : "Vishal, Where did you keep the wine opener?"
Vishal: "I though you stacked the kitchen gears?"
Venus: "me"
Vishal: "Remember, I told you."
Alright!! we are missing the wine opener, we tried all the might but no way this thick skinned cork to move. Vishal went on hunt ..Hurray!! he got someone who helped us in opening the bottle....Night was..happy happy Joy Joy..Until zipped our tent ready to go to sleep...we hear Geroge Michael singing "Faith" on our right hand side and Bob Marley singing "Zimbabwe" on the other side..Notes to ourselves.."Never park your tent around college kids"...The music went all night but thankfully our tent was very comfortable. We both got up around 8:00 am after a cozy sleep in midst of jungle, apparently it rained in the night and the blowing wind tattered our Trash bag hanging on the tree branch throwing all our trash around. Got the stuff collected then I helped Vishal setting the Barbacue grill for breakfast...Ladies first!! so, I left to take a wash in the community Washrooms which were at 5 minutes drive from our camp. The organizer of this campsite had done a good job in providing the basic ameneties to everyone using his camping site. I got freshened up and took over the grilling from Vishal and once he got back.... it was freshly brewed coffee waiting for us, an american couple who were camping right opposite us were quite friendly and offered us the hot beverage. One, more time hearty breakfast with Muffins, Bacon, Frankfutters, Bread and Juice. Ahhhh!!!
Next, how about some Canoeing?? Good idea, we rented a canoe, took the directions to our destination from the office and jumped in the lake..To start with the lake was quiet, the current was pretty normal. The depth of the lake varied from 5 to 15 feet in patches. We saw lot of stones in water....merrily we were rowing our canoe, Vishal spots the current getting faster....teaming up time buddy, we both need to row and balance the canoe at the same time...More than the current it was the big stones that were posing danger...No Problem! our canoe went smooth over this big wall of 3 feet and lake went quiet once again....We covered some distance before I heard the load noise of water again...there was this whirl of water approximately a radius of 1 meters...Are we ready? yaaaoooeee...No our canoe wanted a dip....It capsized..I was in front so was thrown in water so did Vishal so did our canoe and followed my pink slippers, our Ice box stached with chilled beer and juice cans..water was't very deep approx 4 feet but lot of stones on the bed...Vishal my "He man" held the canoe and I did the same so all three of us were tied together but my slipper and Ice box flowed with the current...With all our strength we pushed the canoe to a corner..Vishal took the water out while I was standing in the corner with my bruised knee....bohooo ..No I was not crying!! But it shook us to hell. And the journey further down was smooth...But one thing the trip indeed was "ADVENTUREOUS".
Keep in touch we'll upload the pictures on the blog.
Vishal and I have decided to share this blog (just like everything else, hey world it's fun being married!) to pen down our thoughts and feelings.
